Last year I watched as tons of photographer friends has a blast competing in the international Shoot and Share contest. This year, I took the leap and entered my own images to see how I stacked up against the competition.

Shoot and Share is said to be the world’s biggest photography contest. In 2019 they had well over a half million images entered, by over 16,500 photographers from around the world. The entries are then shown in random sets of 4, where voters from around the world select their favourite image and then are shown a new set. This is a completely anonymous process, and anyone can vote, keeping it completely fair.

The competition is FIERCE. So many talented people entered their images, and it was incredible to see the talent and creativity through out the voting process. I truthfully didn’t have high hopes for earning any badges, so I was completely delighted when the results were released and I learned that I had multiple images that placed in the top 10, 20 and 30% of the competition!! I am already excited to see if I can top my results next year, and can’t wait to create more beautiful images!
