One of the common questions that comes up during maternity photoshoot planning is the wardrobe. What to wear, what not to wear, what is supplied and what needs to be brought along.

There are SO many options for maternity. Anything from casual to formal, fully clothed to barely (or not at all). Often we will do a combination of styles to allow you to capture different looks and have a variety of photos that you can either share with family and friends, or keep as a personal memento.

The studio does have a variety of gowns, crop tops, skirts, etc. that can be used for maternity sessions. When planning your session, ask to view the studio guide. I can send you a link to view the current items available so you can view them online. The studio closet is always being updated, most of the gowns are designed to fit a variety of bodies.

Some clients prefer to bring their own wardrobe, which is great since you will know exactly how your own items fit your body and completely tailor it to your own style and preferences. Personal or sentimental items can also be included, like this gorgeous sari we draped around her.

If you aren’t 100% sure which items you want to use, don’t stress! Feel free to send pictures before your session or bring a larger selection than you plan to use. I can help you choose the most flattering outfits for your maternity photoshoot.

Another great option, especially for those Mamas wanting a really elaborate gown, is to rent it! There is fantastic gown rental business located in Courtice called SugarBump and they offer a wide variety of dresses and gowns to choose from. Local pick up is free, or they can ship direct to you.
