What, might you ask, is labour cake? It is simply the most delicious chocolate cake EVER. So chocolatey, so rich and so sweet that it is rumored to put a pregnant woman into labour 😉

I usually reserve this blog for posting about photography and related items of interest, however after trying this recipe yesterday and with so many of my clients being pregnant women I figured this was a must share. And while I make no guarantees about how effective it is at inducing labour (I do personally know two people who it worked for though!) I figure the worst case is that you eat some amazing chocolate cake – so how could you go wrong?!

So here it is – quick, easy and ridiculously awesome!

1 box of your favourite chocolate cake mix

1 cup of sour cream

1 package of chocolate instant pudding

1 package of chocolate chips

Make the cake mix following the directions but add in the sour cream, pudding, and chocolate chips. Bake according to the directions on the box (we found it needed an extra couple of minutes) and then serve warm topped with chocolate icing or your favourite ice cream!
