With the rise of COVID-19 my heart has been with all of the expectant Moms out there, and all of the clients that I know had planned on and looked forward to having their beautiful baby’s newborn portraits done at the studio.
This time that was supposed to be filled with joy, new life, celebration and visits from family and friends is now filled with uncertainty and isolation, and while I know that things will get better and you will eventually have the opportunity to celebrate, to see your loved ones hold that precious baby someday – I understand the grief that so many of you are feeling.
I also understand that you will want these first weeks of your little one’s life to be documented, to preserve every little detail so that as they grow you will be able to look back and remember these moments with clarity and joy. My heart aches that I can’t be a part of that journey in those first moments, and that I can’t create these images for you, so I am offering the next best thing.
I have created a free guide to taking your newborn’s first photos at home – without needing a fancy camera (although if you have one that is awesome), or props, or special lighting. You just need a phone and a window. When this is all over, when it is safe, I would LOVE to snuggle your sweet baby and create the images that you have dreamed of having – but until then please use this guide to document their first moments, the bond you are developing with them and every perfect little detail from their eyes to their lips to their tiny little toes.
Stay strong Moms and Dads. This will pass, and I truly believe that the world will be a kinder, gentler and more understanding place for all of our children as a result. Sending you love, and congratulations on your new addition – Annya
Please feel free to share this with anyone you know that has recently had a new baby or will be having one during this period of quarantine.
