Baby Jake – Durham Region Newborn Photos

Oh this boy! ? Jake was SO good to us at his newborn session! This handsome boy is the son of a friend and coworker from my days serving and managing at Moxies. I was super excited when his fiance reached out to me to book a session, and was equal parts looking forward to seeing my old friend again as well as meeting his lovely new family.

Jake was already 2 months when he came in for his newborn session. Generally, newborn sessions take place within the first two weeks after baby is born, so I had prepped his parents that it would likely be mostly awake images, with a few sleeping ones. Nope. Jake had other ideas and gave us a few gorgeous awake (and smiling!) images and then passed out and slept like a champion while we played and posed.

I adore this boy’s wild hair, and the sweet little bubbles on his lips. I think it is just the cutest when the babies are “blowing bubbles” in their sleep. So innocent and sweet.

Check out the lashes on this boy! I cannot believe how long and thick they are. Always the boys that get them isn’t it?! 😉

Here is the gorgeous family! These two are honestly perfect together. You can feel the joy and love that they have for each other, and for their son, just by being in the same room. When Dan and I worked together many years ago he was this young guy, full of energy and always up to party. I remember saying back then that someday he was going to find the right girl and when he did he would be the most amazing husband and father. I have to say it was a really fun experience to get to see it first hand, and he couldn’t have picked a nicer, more sweet and loving woman to create a family with!

Thank you so much to Lexy and Dan for bringing Jake in for his first portrait session! I had such a lovely time, it was a privilege to photograph your sweet boy!
