Baby Briana – Ajax Newborn Portraits

I hope everyone had an amazing Mother’s Day yesterday! My kiddos brought me pancakes in bed and we all snuggled up and shared (aka my daughter at them all 😉 ). We spent the day relaxing and hanging out and then finished it off by joining my oldest two and their Mom for a campfire on a creekbed, with hot dogs and smores! Such a lovely day for all of us and it felt great to kick back and relax for a bit.

So many of my wonderful clients were celebrating their first Mother’s Day as new Moms yesterday, so a very special Happy Mother’s Day to all of you!

Now on to Briana! This 21 day old beauty was complete perfection. She slept better than most babies who are under 14 days, and seemed completely content the entire time she was here. Mom and Dad were wonderful, so full of joy with their new daughter.

Both of her parents are from India, so I had a great time hearing stories about what it is like there and about the differences in our cultures. Dad had been living in Canada for a few years before their families arranged for them to meet and be married in India, and then Mom came over to live here in Canada. She told me that she had turned down so many men prior that her family was starting to worry – but I guess when it is right you just know.

She told me that in India you are never alone, there are always people around – ESPECIALLY if there is a new baby. So lots of help, and very little opportunity to be lonely. I was thinking that it must be such a challenge to come from a culture where there is so much help readily available and have a baby here, with your family on another continent, but then they told me that Briana’s grandparents are staying with them for the next 6 months to a year! How wonderful for her grandparents to have so much time to bond with her and get to know their granddaughter. (I think I might try to sneak back in their suitcase when they go though, it sounds so lovely in India!)

Seriously… could she be anymore beautiful? Those lashes go on forever…

Looking for Ajax newborn portraits of your own little one? My studio is located just West of Ajax in Pickering and serves the Durham Region and GTA. With over 10 years of experience photographing hundreds, if not thousands of babies I am confident that I will be able to provide gorgeous portraits of your little one, and have the knowledge, skills and training to keep them safe and comfortable through out the process.

It is recommended that newborn portraits are created within the first 2 weeks after the baby is born, so that they are still very sleepy and “curled” for their appointment. For this reason the appointment should be booked before the baby arrives to ensure availability in the schedule. Appointments are tentative and can be moved should your baby arrive early or late. If you have missed this window don’t worry, get in touch and I will do my very best to make sure you are still able to capture your sweet baby.
