Ruby is ONE! Pickering Cake Smash

This sweet little lady has completed her first trip around the sun!! Ruby is the daughter of my friends, Dayna and Ryan and I was super excited when Dayna messaged me and said she wanted to do a burger smash to celebrate Miss Ruby’s first birthday! Such a fun, fresh idea!

Clearly she was equally excited at the prospect 😉 She LOVED the burgers. I mean look at the love in her eyes – pretty sure her love of food will rival that of her Mother’s 😛

They had this incredible cake made up (Thanks Sugar Chalet!!) that looked just like a burger, but satisfied the sweet tooth.

I always love to add a “splash” portion after they smash the cake. We need to get them cleaned off anyway, so why not let them have a blast with some bubbles and snap a few last images while we are at it!? Sometimes babies aren’t a fan of the cake – either the texture freaks them out, they don’t like the mess or the sugar is too much – but 99% of them can’t resist a bubble bath!

Thanks so much to Dayna and Ryan for making me apart of Ruby’s first birthday celebrations! It has been amazing getting to watch as you became parents and went through this new journey over the last year. I can’t wait to see who this little lady becomes as she gets older!
