Currently the studio is closed due to the province wide shut down for COVID-19. I am patiently waiting (or maybe not quite patiently, but I am waiting) for the go ahead that it is safe to reopen. In the mean time I am hoping to catch up on some blog posts between helping my 4 kiddos with their online schooling and wanted to start by sharing Mya’s session.

Mya was born at the beginning of the last lockdown, and we had to wait a few months before we were allowed to do her session. She was very clearly older than what we typically recommend for a newborn session but her parents were game to give it a whirl anyway, and so was I. I wanted to share this session now to give some hope to parents who have had, or are going to have babies during the lockdown, to show that yes, we CAN create beautiful newborn photos of your baby, even if they are a bit older than the recommended 1 – 2 weeks.

I can just imagine the feelings that new parents are experiencing bringing babies in to the world right now, and that it might feel like there are a lot of experiences and joys that you are missing out on. Please take this as reassurance that newborn photos are 1 thing that you don’t have to miss out on – just delay slightly 🙂

Little cutie decided to wake up mid way through this pose, so of course I had to capture her beautiful face!

This session was SO MUCH FUN. I got to snuggle a beautiful baby, an adorable pup and hang out with her awesome parents too. I promise, even if we miss the very first weeks of your baby’s life, we will still be able to get gorgeous images once the studio opens! Thank you so much to Mya’s Mom and Dad for trusting me to create these for their family – crazy to think we will soon be doing her birthday session!! ?
